About the Midcoast RideFinder

Finding transportation in rural Maine can be very challenging...

but there are more options than you may think.

For the first time, all available transportation providers in Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties and the towns of Brunswick and Harpswell have been compiled into a user-friendly print and online guide.

The Midcoast RideFinder was developed by Coastal Trans based on their 30 years of experience transporting people in the region. They discovered that one public transportation system cannot meet all of the diverse needs in this rural service area. Coastal Trans realized it is essential to collaborate with all transportation providers, as well as social service agencies, to offer a directory of transportation in an effort to make it more accessible.

Whether you are trying to get to a doctor's appointment or out to one of the islands, the Midcoast RideFinder can help you. Many of these services are free, some accept MaineCare and others require fees. Profiled by county, every provider has specific criteria so please refer to the key to understand how to select the best transportation for your needs.

This guide was made possible by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation and is part of the Coastal Trans mobility management program, a national transportation model to help more people access transportation.
